Crispy Pork Kawali

INGREDIENTS:
Pork Belly
Salt
Pepper
Soy Sauce
Oyster Sauce
Garlic Powder
Rice
Rice Wine Vinegar
Shallots or Red Onions
Spicy Chili
How To Make:
Prepare rice servings ahead of time.
For Pork:
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Cut pork into 2-inch strips.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Boil pork for 3-5 minutes.
- Heat 2 cups of oil on medium-high heat in a pan.
- Add cooked pork to a mixing bowl and stir in the following:
- ½ tsp salt and pepper
- 2 tsp oyster sauce
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- In an additional bowl, dredge pork in some rice flour.
- Fry pork belly in oil until crispy. Prepare a few at a time. Don’t overcrowd the oil.
- Place pork belly on a plate that is lined with a paper towel before plating.
- Plate with rice and spicy rice wine vinegar.
For Spicy Rice Wine Vinegar:
- ½ cup rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp shallots or red onions
- ½ tsp fresh minced garlic
- ½ tsp spicy chili
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
