Troubleshooting

12. The picture freezes or buffers. What should I do?
Check your internet speed. If it’s below 1.5 Mbps, you may experience buffering.

13. My Roku is frozen and won’t return to the home screen.
Unplug the Roku from the power outlet, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. This will reboot the device.

14. The German feed works, but the US English feed times out.
Unplug your Roku from the wall to refresh the connection. Roku may occasionally change internal streaming paths, and a reboot helps reestablish the correct one.

15. The picture looks stretched or squashed. How can I fix it?
This is usually due to incorrect display settings. Try the following:

On your TV:

  1. Press Menu or Settings.
  2. Go to Display or Picture Settings.
  3. Adjust the Aspect Ratio to:
    • 16:9 for widescreen TVs
    • 4:3 for older content
    • Or select Auto or Just Scan

On Roku:

  1. Press the ✱ (star) button during playback.
  2. Look for Picture Size or Zoom options.

Note: Some older shows may appear with black bars due to their original 4:3 format.

16. Why does the EWTN+ channel stop after 2 hours?
To manage streaming costs, EWTN automatically ends the stream after 2 hours of inactivity. Simply restart the channel to continue watching.
Consider supporting EWTN with a donation.

  3. To update your info, edit your profile or reset your password.
